Eco Green Club of Baptist College in collaboration with TaFma, MasterPeace and Silviculture division, Kohima commemorated World Environment Day at Baptist College Sechü Campus under the theme ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’.
The day witnessed plantation of tree sapling donated by Silviculture division in and around the campus. A formal program was held before the plantation which was chaired by Asilie Rürhia, member Eco Green Club. The program began with a prayer by Tamreimung Chüsi, Chaplain Baptist College; Dr. Kekuchol Pusa, Principal Baptist College Sechü Campus delivered the welcome address and Shri. Theja Meru shared a note on the event. Meru in his address applauded the audience for coming together to do something different for the environment. He termed the event as a visionary movement which will benefit the community at large. Ms. Sevolü Chüzho, Convener Eco Green Club proposed the vote of thanks which was followed by the Plantation Drive.
The program was also attended by Dr. Hovithal Sothu, Project Director TaFma, Ms. Imnainla Jamir, Global Ambassador of MasterPeace, members of TaFma, Masterpeace, Silviculture division, staff and students of Baptist College Kohima and Sechü Campus.
