The Career Guidance Committee of Baptist College, Kohima, in collaboration with the Department of Commerce and the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM), conducted a three-day workshop on the Securities Market on 22nd, 23rd, and 25th July, 2025 at Room No. 5, Baptist College. The sessions were held from 1:40 PM onwards with Mr. Chenio Lotha, Securities Market Trainer, SEBI as the resource person.
The workshop aimed to promote financial literacy and introduce students to investment practices and career prospects in the securities market. Over three days, Mr. Lotha covered topics including the objectives of NISM, the importance of investment, functioning of primary and secondary markets, IPOs, mutual funds, and safe investing practices. Interactive sessions, discussions, and short assessments enabled students to actively engage and enhance their understanding.
The program also highlighted diverse career opportunities in the securities market, generating interest among commerce and non-commerce students. The workshop concluded with positive feedback, reflecting its success in raising awareness about financial markets and potential career avenues. All together 60 students -Day1, Day 2- 55 students and Day 3- 55 students attended the workshop.
The Career Guidance Committee expressed gratitude to Mr. Chenio Lotha, NISM, and the Department of Commerce for their support and collaboration.
