The Baptist College Women’s Hostel, Sechü led by the wardens visited the 25th Hornbill Festival, held at Kisama Heritage Village, Nagaland, on 1st December 2024. The objective of the visit was to explore and experience the diverse Naga culture, learn about the different tribes, and witness the vibrant traditions of the Nagas.
The group witnessed the opening ceremony of the festival, which showcased the rich cultural heritage of the Nagas. The group explored the Kisama Heritage Village, marveling at the traditional architecture, crafts, and artifacts on display. The group was also treated to a spectacular display of traditional Naga dances, music, and cuisine. The group had the opportunity to savour the Chang local dish, at the Chang Morung, and interacted with the locals and gained insights into their customs and traditions.
The visit was an enriching and unforgettable experience for the students and staff of Baptist College Women’s Hostel. It provided a unique opportunity to explore and experience the diverse Naga culture, learn about the different tribes, and witness the vibrant traditions of the Nagas. Altogether 24 members, inclusive of the hostellers, wardens and teachers residing in the Hostel joined the tour.
