Inter-Collegiate Debate Competition
The Department of History, Baptist College, participated in the inter-collegiate debate competition organized by the Department of History, Don Bosco College. The debate was held on the topic “Naga Women Should Have Property Inheritance Rights.” A team of six students from Baptist College—Mr. Thrunso K. (2nd Semester), Mr. Richard Kikon, Mr. Jesse Kapfo, Ms. Ruokuotuonuo Rio, Ms. M. LichanbeniShitiri, and Ms. Yanon—represented the institution. They were accompanied by four faculty members.
The competition witnessed outstanding performances, with Mr. Thrunso K. (2nd Semester) of Baptist College securing the first position, Ms. Thejakhrienuo (6th Semester) of Don Bosco College securing the second position, and Ms.Ruokuotuonuo Rio (6th Semester) of Baptist College securing the third position. Ms. Neilanuo Sachu (2nd Semester, DBCK) served as the Moderator.
The panel of judges comprised Mr. Asilie Riirhia (HoD, History, BCK), Mr. Chubutse Naro (Assistant Professor, History, BCK), Dr. Tsutshowe-ii Sekhamo (HoD, History, DBCK), and Dr. Lanukumla (Assistant Professor, History DBCK). The event concluded with a remark from Mr.Chubutse Naro, highlighting the significance of such intellectual exchanges.
The competition proved to be a great success, fostering academic discourse and encouraging students from both institutions to engage in meaningful discussions while learning from each other’s perspectives.
