The Students’ Council Election for the tenure 2026–2027 was successfully held on 2nd April, 2026 at Rivernburgs Memorial Chapel, Baptist College Kohima. The programme commenced at 2:45 PM with Mr. Medoseto Tholre, Games and Sports Secretary, Student council as the chairperson.
The event began with a briefing by Mr. Kevizhalhou Medom, Chief Election Commissioner of the Students’ Council, who outlined the election procedures. This was followed by the election hour, conducted smoothly and in an orderly manner.
An exhortation was delivered by Dr. Kekuchol Pusa, Principal of the college, who encouraged students to uphold responsibility and leadership values. After the completion of voting, the results were officially declared, and the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected members was conducted.
Thrunso was declared the newly elected President and delivered a brief speech expressing gratitude and commitment to serve the student body sincerely. The outgoing council members were also appreciated for their dedicated service and were awarded appreciation certificates for their contributions during their tenure.
The programme concluded with congratulatory remarks from the outgoing President Daniel Konyak and a vote of thanks note by Mr. Muzita Vero, General Secretary. The program ended with light refreshments for all the attendees.A total of 34 students, including Class Representatives (CRs), were present for the programme.
