State-Level Campaign for Promotion of Apprenticeship in Northeastern States under PM–NAPS, 5th December, 2025

The State Level Campaign on Promotion of Apprenticeship in the North Eastern States under the PM–National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (PM-NAPS) was held on 5th December 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Capital Cultural Hall, Kohima, Nagaland. The event was organised by the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship to create awareness on apprenticeship opportunities and to promote industry–skill convergence in the region. The event began with registration at 10:30 AM, followed by a Welcome Address delivered by Smti. Sotsula, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary, Labour & Employment,Skill Development& Entrepreneurship. A detailed presentation on PM-NAPS was conducted by RDSDE, Assam, highlighting key features, benefits for trainees, and support for industries.

A session on “Apprenticeship: Importance of Convergence and the Way Ahead” was presented by IIE Guwahati, emphasising collaboration between training providers, industries, and government agencies. The Special Guest, Shri Moatoshi Longkumer, Hon’ble MLA and Advisor of Labour and Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Excise, Govt of Nagaland delivered an insightful speech stressing the importance of skill development for youth empowerment in Nagaland. This was followed by a networking session with SSCs and TPAs, and an open discussion with officials from RDSDE, IIE, and other departments. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Shri Savio Visa, Director, DESDE, after which a group photo session and refreshments were arranged.

A total of six students from our institution attended the event, benefiting greatly from the exposure to apprenticeship opportunities, policy insights, and direct interaction with officials and industry representatives.
