Parent Teacher Committee, Baptist College organises Annual Parent- Teacher Meeting, 26th April, 2025

The Annual Parent-Teacher Meeting was held on 26th April, 2025 at Rivenburgs Memorial Hall, commencing at 10:00 a.m. The meeting was convened by the Parent-Teacher Committee (PTC) of the College. Dr. Tsenbeni, Head of the Department of English and Convener of the PTC, welcomed the parents, expressed gratitude for their presence, and encouraged them to actively share their concerns and suggestions.

Representing the Arts Stream, Mr. Asilie Rürhia, Head of the Department of History, addressed the gathering and highlighted the detrimental effects of the overuse and misuse of smartphones on students’ academic performance.

Speaking on behalf of the Commerce Stream, Dr. S. K. Pandey shared his long-term observations, noting a decline in student motivation over the past decades.

The Principal, Dr. Kewepfuzu Lohe, extended his gratitude to the parents for entrusting Baptist College with their children’s education. Emphasizing that the college exists for the benefit of the students, he underscored the importance of recognizing and nurturing each child’s natural abilities and interests, asserting that every skill has value in the modern market. He stressed the crucial role of parents in monitoring their children’s activities beyond the campus, complementing the efforts of the faculty within the college.Parents were also invited to voice their thoughts, concerns, suggestions, and feedback.

In the concluding remarks, Mr. Seyiesilie Vüprü, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science and a member of the PTC, reaffirmed the College’s commitment to the academic welfare of the students.
