Orientation & Awareness Program, 12th August, 2022

The Red Ribbon Club (RRC) and Medical Committee, Baptist College organised an orientation and awareness program on 12th August, 2022 at Rivenburg Memorial Chapel, in observance of the International Youth Day under the theme: “Youth for HIV Free World.” Dr. Mhabeni Ezung, Convenor, RRC, Baptist College spoke on the role and responsibilities of youth for an HIV free world and the importance of youth voices and peer-to-peer education which are potent weapons in the fight against the HIV epidemic. Dr. Sentinaro, Convenor, Medical Committee, Baptist College, highlighted on the need of creating awareness on mental health which if ignored can impede all aspects of health including emotional well-being and social development, leaving young people socially isolated, stigmatised and unable to optimise their social, vocational and interpersonal contributions to society. In line with the theme, an essay and poster making competition was held, where Ms. Thingpio L. Lamthew, B.A 3rd Semester, Department of English and Mr. Sedevituo Keditsü, B.A 1st Semester, General Course were adjudged in the first and second positions in Essay competition, while Ms. Idaile, BA 5th Semester, Department of History and Mr. Kekhrietuo Peya, B.A 1st Semester, General Course won the first and second positions in the Poster Making category. The program was chaired by Ms. Veni Yeptho, Student Coordinator, RRC, Baptist College and the vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Sevolü Chüzho, Member, RRC, Baptist College.
