A one day workshop “Mastering Tomorrow: A student-focused soft skills workshop”, was organised by the Department of English , Baptist College Kohima on 13th of February 2024 with Ms. Theyievino Whiso , MD and Training Lead of Nagaland Institute of Language Studies and Research (NILSR), Kohima as the Resource Person.
The programme commenced with a welcome note by Dr. Tsenbeni , HOD , Department of English prayer by Dr. Enünü Sale, Assistant Professor and introduction of Resource person by Dr. Sentinaro, Assistant Professor.
The workshop was conducted in two sessions accomodating the 2nd Semester and 6th Semester students of English department In the first session, the resource person focussed on the concept of Soft Skills with adaptability as its key point and the practice of ‘deliberate calm’. The first session concluded with an activity on team work. In the second session, the speaker focused on the importance of language skills. The session ended with an activity focused on decision making skills and interaction skill and the importance of small talk in developing speaking skills. Both the sessions accomodated a time of interaction.
The workshop concluded with a note of gratitude by Ms. Asola C Jamir , Assistant Professor , Department of English.
