The Disaster Management Committee, Baptist College, Kohima in collaboration with District Disaster Management Authority, Kohima organized a mock earthquake drill on 8th October, 2024 at 12:30 PM . Mr. Kezhalelhou Zatsu, Assistant Professor, Baptist College, Kohima delivered the introductory speech and Mr. Victor Yhome, in-charge, District Disaster Management, Kohima briefed the students on how to respond to earthquake disasters and emergency.
The mock drill was conducted by District Disaster Management Authority Kohima under the Company Commander, Mr. Khruzota Nyekha of Home Guards. The team demonstrated a mock search and rescue operation with participation from the principal, faculty and student volunteers of the College. A first Aid Centre was also set up to show how to treat victims of disasters.
A comprehensive hands on training session for the faculty members of the College was also organized where demonstrations were shown on how to make improvised stretcher, hand seats, chair rescue, rope rescue, knotting types and CPR techniques.
