Faculty Exchange Program between Baptist College, Kohima and Kohima College, Kohima from 22nd-26th September, 2025

As part of the Plan of Action for July 2025–June 2026, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Baptist College, Kohima and Kohima College, Kohima organized the Faculty Exchange Programme with the objective of enhancing teaching–learning practices, promoting inter-institutional collaboration, and broadening the academic exposure of both faculty and students.The  initiative was taken with the purpose to foster a culture of knowledge-sharing and strengthen academic partnerships.

The first phase of the Exchange Programme commenced with three faculty members from Baptist College—Mr. Thsidelong Sangtam, Dr. Kewepfuzu Lohe, and Mr. Seyiesilie Vüprü—visiting Kohima College, Kohima.

On the first day, 22 September, 2025, Mr. Thsidelong Sangtam delivered a lecture on the topic “Free Movement Regime”to the third-semester M.A. Political Science students of Kohima College. His lecture provided students with deeper insights into the complexities of cross-border mobility, its implications for international relations, and its significance in contemporary political discourse. The interactive nature of the session enabled students to critically engage with the theme and acquire fresh perspectives on the subject.

The second presentation, was delivered on 24 th September 2025 by Dr. Kewepfuzu Lohe, on the topic, Medanism: Indigenous Beliefs and Practices of the Nagas.” Dr. Lohe highlighted the rich socio-cultural heritage of the Nagas, with particular emphasis on the traditional system of Medanism and its intersections with modern religious practices, especially Christianity. He underscored the importance of preserving indigenous knowledge systems while simultaneously engaging with the demands of contemporary society.

The third presentation  by Mr. Seyiesilie Vüprü, on the 26th of September,2025 addressed the topic “Political Mobilisation in the 21st Century: Role of Youth and Social Media.” His lecture examined how youth, empowered through social media platforms, have emerged as significant agents of political mobilisation in the contemporary era. He emphasized that while digital spaces provide unprecedented opportunities for participation, awareness, and activism, they also necessitate responsibility, critical thinking, and ethical engagement.

Overall, the Faculty Exchange Programme proved to be intellectually enriching and mutually beneficial for both the teaching faculty and the student community. It not only facilitated the dissemination of diverse academic perspectives but also reinforced the collaborative spirit between Baptist College and Kohima College.
