Baptist College Kohima, Sechü Campus, celebrated a significant milestone with the dedication of its newly constructed football ground. The event was led by Mr. Vipralhou Kesiezie, Chairman of the Governing Body, BCK, who extended a cordial welcome note and reflected on the project’s journey. Initiated in 2014 under the sponsorship of the University Grants Commission (UGC), Government of India, the project reached its fruitful completion in March 2025.
The dedication ceremony was officiated by Rev. Dr. Rachülie Vihienuo, Executive Director Angami Baptist Church Council. He remarked, “This is a reminder of God’s goodness and faithfulness. It stands as a testimony to how far He has brought us.” He also emphasized the importance of conscientious stewardship in utilizing the facilities entrusted to the institution. In addition, he accentuated the vital role of holistic education driven by a novaturient temperament in shaping an intellectually and ethically vibrant academic environment, expressing optimism for the college’s future growth.
Following the dedication ceremony, Rev. Dr. Rachülie Vihienuo officially kicked off the ball, signifying its inauguration. To commemorate the occasion, an exhibition match was held between the Sechü Campus and Kohima Campus, with Kohima Campus securing a decisive 5-1 victory. This consequential establishment reaffirms the institution’s dedication to integrating academic rigor with extracurricular excellence, setting a precedent for future athletic endeavours.
