The Department of Sociology, Baptist College, Kohima and Sechu campus organised a debate competition on 17th February, 2024 at Rivenburgs Memorial Chapel, Kohima under the theme “Modernity is a Threat to Our Traditional Culture and Values”. The motion team was adjudged as the winner and Mr. Alumpi of 2nd semester, Sechü Campus as the best debator. Dr. Kewepfuzu Lohe, Mr. Vincent, Mr. L. Thsidelong Rudy and Dr. Videkhono Yhokha were the judges of the competition. Dr. Khobu Tsolo was the moderator while Dr. Kewepfuzu presented a critique on the theme.
Ms. Veshetsülü Rüho, Asst. Professor, Department of Sociology, Ms. Chetsho-ü and Mr. Kevizevo of 6th semesters were the rapporteurs of the event. Sociology students from all three semesters including twelve debaters representing their respective semesters and campus participated in the program.
