Disaster Management Committee, BCK in collaboration with District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Kohima conducted a program on “Capacity Building Management” on 9th April 2026, at Rivenburgs Memorial Chapel for B.A & B.Com 2nd Semester students.
The resource persons were Victor Kevilhouthie Yhome, District Project Associate, Kohima,NSDMA, Home Department, and Sinlo Khing, Inspector, Company Commander, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Kohima. According to Yhome, Nagaland is a vulnerable zone prone to earthquakes, thus, capacity building and training programs must be organized so that anyone can become a responder to others and themselves. Khing stressed the importance of having a student disaster management plan. He went on to emphasize the significance of assessing the structural safety of the College building, identifying hazards, and training teachers and students.
The session concluded with demonstrations on conducting basic emergency treatment.The program was chaired by Sezonu Temi, General Secretary, Students’ Council and Dr. Kevino Nagi, Convener, Disaster Management Committee delivered a note on the event.
