Baptist College Participates in the Protest Rally Against Sexual Violence and Delay in Adjudication of Sexual Harassment Cases, 19th June, 2026

113 Students from the Department of Political Science along with Mr. Thsidelong Sangtam HoD, attended the rally organised by the tribal women bodies of Kohima on 19th June,2026. Thousands of people participated in a peaceful public rally organised by the tribal women bodies of Kohima, calling for justice in cases involving crimes against women and children and expressing concern over delay in adjudication of sexual harassment cases.

Later, the bodies took out a procession to Raj Bhavan to submit a memorandum to Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav.

The participation of students in the rally aimed to demonstrate solidarity with victims of sexual violence, raise awareness about gender justice, encourage civic engagement, and support the demand for timely adjudication of cases involving crimes against women and children. Such participation also provided students with practical exposure to democratic processes and social activism.
