Baptist College, Kohima, participated in the State-Level Students’ Seminar held on 21st August, 2026 at Modern College, Piphema. The seminar was sponsored by the Department of Art and Culture, Government of Nagaland, and organised by the Department of History, Modern College, Piphema, on the theme “Cultural Interpretation and Social Transformation: Decolonizing Naga History.” Altogether 8 colleges from Nagaland and Manipur participated in the seminar
Ms. Sharon Konyak and Ms. Tsuvie-O Koza, students of BA 5th Semester, Department of Political Science, represented the college at the seminar, which comprised of four technical sessions. They were accompanied by Mr. Seyiesilie Vüprü, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science and Assistant Coordinator, IQAC.
Ms. Sharon Konyak presented a paper titled “Indigenous Governance System: Role of the Chi Angh of the Konyak Community,” while Ms. Tsuvie-O Koza presented a paper titled “Unwritten Beliefs and Sacred Stones: The Living Legacy of Oral Traditions at Tepfulo, Khezhakeno.”
A notable achievement for the college was Ms. Tsuvie-O Koza’s 3rd position among the paper presenters. She was awarded a cash prize and certificate in recognition of her achievement. Both students also received certificates for their participation and paper presentations.
The participation provided the students with an opportunity to engage in academic discourse on Naga history, indigenous governance, oral traditions, and cultural heritage, while bringing recognition to Baptist College at the state level.
