Baptist College organises Teacher’s Orientation Program on Linguaskill, 2nd May, 2025

‘Teacher’s Orientation Program on Linguaskill’ was organised by IQAC, Baptist College, Kohima in collaboration with Cambridge University Press & Assessment on 2nd May, 2025 at Baptist College, Kohima for the teaching faculty members of the College. Dr. Sentinaro, IQAC coordinator, Baptist College, Kohima, chaired the program and gave a brief highlight on the need for introducing language skills program to help empower learners.

Dr. Kewepfuzu Lohe, Principal, Baptist College, Kohima, in his welcome note reiterated the importance of  having a command over English language and of good communicative skills to help connect and establish long lasting relationships.

Mr. Ambar Chatterjee, Area Manager – North East, Cambridge University Press & Assessment, gave an overview of the orientation program.

Mr. Samir Prasad Chettri, Regional Manager – (India – East) Cambridge University Press introduced the program and modules of Linguaskill, which is a certificated assessment of English language proficiency test offered by Cambridge. He also shared a short background on the formation of Cambridge University Press & Assessment (CUPA) which is a global publisher and assessment organisation and is part of the University of Cambridge, on Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) which is a six-level scale (A1-C2) to test the language skills based on Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing, and on Evolve Digital, a six-level English course prepared according to the learners level.

The orientation program had a Q&A session for further clarification after which it came to a close with the closing acknowledgement from Dr. Kekuchol Pusa, Principal, Baptist College, Sechü Campus.
