The inaugural program of “Terra Verde,” an art exhibition by Local Colours, was held at the Centre
of Excellence for Music and Arts (CEMA), Minister’s Hill, Kohima on 25th February, 2025.
The program was attended by 20 (Twenty) students accompanied by Mr. Seyiesilie Vüprü, Asst.
Coordinator IQAC, Baptist College , Kohima under the initiative of IQAC, BCK.
Dr. Hovithal Sothu delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the importance of embracing arts.
Shri Theja Meru enlightened the audience on the theme “Terra Verde” (Green Earth), highlighting
Nagaland’s breathtaking beauty and urging Local Colours artists to capture its landscapes, including
Mount Sarmati and the Tizu River.
Ms. Among Venuh, a member of Local Colours, introduced the group, which was founded in 2023
and comprises of six talented artists. Mr. Kedou Kire entertained the audience with a special
musical performance.
Shri Y Anthony Ngullie, Commissioner and Secretary, Youth Resources and Sports Department,
exhorted the gathering, emphasizing Nagaland’s status as a green state. He urged the attendees to
take pride in their state’s stunning landscapes, scenic beauty, and fresh air, while encouraging youths
to join hands with the department to uplift the state.
