Literary Committee, Baptist College
The Literary Committee was constituted on the 19 th of June, 1999 with a Convener and members from the faculty along with student members.The main objective of the Committee is to enhance the literary skills of the students, to bring to light the hidden talents among the students and conduct various literary events, providing opportunities to the students to come up with their not so known skills. It strives in developing an unbounded and strong platform to overall development of the students.The committee prepares students to express themselves.
Aims and Objectives :
- To conduct competitions for literary events like Debates, Elocution, Extempore, Poetry, Essay writing, Open Mic sessions etc.
- To conduct inter and intra literary events in the college.
- To encourage students to attend literary events outside the college.
- To encourage students to make literary contributions to the college bulletin in the form of articles, poetry and other write ups.
- To organise the Literary Day with the aim of developing skills and values like logical , critical, and creative thinking and instil leadership, social communication and emotional skills.
- It is envisioned towards grooming the students by developing their interest in literary activities by equipping the students with the literary tools preparing the students for learning and living the text through reading, writing and communication and other art forms which helps one to discover the non- standardised form of education.
- To promote the interest of literary enthusiasts. The events organised by the committee encourages the students to express themselves and bring out their creativity and innovation.
- To facilitate interchange of literary ideas and information and institute such activities in the college.
- To help develop organisation and persuasive skills of the students.
- Works in tandem to benefit students in the disciplines of writing and speaking by conducting events that are both instructional and enjoyable.
