Orientation programme on “Academic Writing: Assignment & Project Report Writing” for the teaching faculty of Baptist College was conducted on June 20, 2026 in Room no.15, Baptist College Kohima. Dr. Sentinaro, Assistant Professor, Department of English and IQAC Coordinator, BCK and Ngiplon Rachel Chohwanglim, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Commerce, Kohima College, Kohima were the resource persons for the two-sessions program.
Dr. Sentinaro, in her talk on “Guidelines on the Fundamentals of Assignment Writing,” emphasized the significance of avoiding plagiarism which is a type of intellectual theft and mentioned that sources that are consulted or referenced need to be properly cited.
She discussed the core principles of assignment writing and elaborated on two citation styles: MLA and APA.
Ngiplon Rachel focused on and went into detail about writing reports for internships and EVS field work projects during her presentation on “Principles and Practices of Project Report Writing.” She also discussed the rules governing the application of AI in higher education and the requirement that one’s own learning and critical thinking be reflected in their work. Both speakers spotlighted the importance of maintaining academic ethics and integrity.
The program was chaired by Süvilü Venuh, Assistant Coordinator, IQAC with an opening remarks by Principal, Dr. Kekuchol Pusa who explained the purpose of the orientation which was to provide the teaching staff with up-to-date information so they could efficiently mentor the students.BCK Writing Orientation Programme
