The department of English, Baptist College Kohima organised the 6th Edition of BCK Literature Fest, on 27th October, 2023 on the theme “Celebrating Creativity for All”. The resource persons, invitees and guest judges for the events were:

The Inaugural session started at 10 A.M. Mrs Loly Chophi, Assistant Professor, Department of English , chaired the session. Mr Tamreimung Chüsi, Chaplain, Baptist College Kohima pronounced the prayer. The principal’s address was given by Dr. Kekuchol Pusa, Principal, Baptist College. Ms. Süvilu Venuh, Assistant Professor, Department of English gave the remark on the event. She stated that an event like Literature Fest is organised to celebrate the gift of creativity and also to learn to take up the responsibility of nurturing this gift further. Such an event not only provides platform for expression of oneself through various creative mode but also help foster a community based on mutual love and pursuit for beauty to learn and grow as humans. The fest hopes to provide opportunity for exploration and exposition not only of creativity but also to boost one’s critical perceptiveness through interactions and participation. The programme concluded with a special presentation by Haithonlo Kath.
Book counters, Food stalls, Art and craft gallery started at 10:30 at the New building (college building).
There were two off stage activities namely, Poetry Writing Competition and Creative Writing. Ms. Nosano Kikhi was the guest judge of Poetry Writing Competition. Mr Kelhoukiesie Savino was the resource person for creative writing.
A panel discussion was held on the topic “Literary Movement and the genres in Naga Writing” with the panelists Dr Vizovono Elizabeth, Dr Yanbeni Yanthan (Beni Sumer Yanthan), Ms. Vishü Rita Krocha and Mrs Loly Chophi as the moderator.
The Book Reading session was hosted by Ms. Asola C. Jamir, Assistant Professor, Department of English. The following writers read from their publication, Yanbeni Yanthan, Vishü Rita Krocha, Limatoshi Longkumer, Chenonlo Aaron Woch, Elongshila Jamir and students of Baptist College. The afternoon session started after the intermission at 1 pm. The two events of the afternoon session were titled “Melodies” and “Stories on Stage” which showcased the singing and acting skills of the students of the college. The day long programme concluded after prize and certificate distribution and the vote of thanks pronounced by Dr. Sentinaro, HoD, Dept. Of English, Baptist College, Kohima.
